| The Partners The Global Gathering Place is a joint initiative of the Multicultural History Society of Ontario (MHSO) and the Centre for Instructional Technology Development (CITD) at the University of Toronto at Scarborough. The project is currently supported by a grant from Canadian Heritage. Project personnel have included project manager Leslie Chan and technical coordinator William Barek (CITD), content developers Dora Nipp, Nick Harney, Lillian Petroff, and Carl Thorpe (MHSO) and Kathryn Denning (CITD). Toronto District School Board curriculum coordinators Bill Alexander and ethnoculturl equity coordinator Trevor Ludski have facilitated the introduction of the GGP to the Board and department heads of History. The GGP has been piloted at Pearson C.I., Heritage Park Public School, David and Mary Thomson C.I., and Midland C.I., in programs ranging from History and Social Studies to Information Literacy to Global Education. Teachers from the Toronto District School Board have been instrumental in testing the GGP project in the classroom. Chinese language teachers from Winnipeg, Brampton, Ottawa, London, and Toronto have also helped pilot the GGP. Student volunteers at the University of Toronto at Scarborough have contributed to the scanning of materials and graphic design. Many community groups have contributed to the development of the MHSO collections, and have advised on the GGP projects development.
