Education
Chinese Canadian women's perceptions of the importance of education varied greatly. Many did not complete high school, and entered the workforce as teenagers. For some, withdrawal from school was reluctant, done only to obey their parents’ demands or because of family financial needs. For others, this was done of their own volition, as Victoria King explains in the accompanying audio clip.
