Building The Global Gathering Place

Our sense of Canadian identity comes from an understanding of our shared history.

Through the World Wide Web, this project makes available a wealth of information on immigration, religion, arts and literature. At the click of a button, students, researchers or any interested member of the public can find out more about the richness of their collective histories. Our web-site takes you to a vitrual world, past and present, that isn't defined by borders or mountains.

The Global Gathering Place is a part of our long-term strategy to create informed dialogue that celebrates both pluralism and self-identity. It is a joint project of the Society and the Centre for Instructional Technology Development (CITD), University of Toronto at Scarborough.
