‘They gave up themselves for the next generation.’ Growing up, Claire Wong aspired to work somewhere other than a restaurant or laundry. Raised by hardworking restaurateur parents, she feels that this made for a difficult childhood. She explains that though her uneducated parents did not have many employment options, they worked hard to provide for their family.
